Meka Egwuekwe
Meka Egwuekwe, a successful software developer and advocate for technology education, was raised in economically-challenged South Memphis and developed a passion for technology at a young age. He pursued his education at prestigious institutions, including Phillips Academy Andover and Morehouse College, where he excelled in computer science. Throughout his career, Meka has worked with various organizations to support youth and education, including founding the Memphis Chapter of Black Girls Code. In 2015, he co-founded CodeCrew, a non-profit that aims to close the digital divide and increase opportunities in technology for underrepresented communities. CodeCrew has successfully mentored thousands of students and has seen significant improvements in their educational and career prospects. Meka's commitment to this cause has earned him numerous awards and recognition in the field. He continues to advocate for equality in technology education and has published op-eds discussing the importance of eliminating barriers in the tech industry. Meka is married with two daughters and serves on the boards of various organizations.
